Caitlin Oden is an actor, singer, and storyteller based in Los Angeles.
Drawn to the bizarre, offbeat, and erratic sides of humanity, Caitlin is known for her portrayal of slightly off-kilter characters. Originally from Nashville, TN, she pursued her love for storytelling at the University of Southern California, earning her degree in Acting and Musical Theatre. She now works professionally as an actor and singer in Los Angeles. Caitlin is currently continuing her training with Michael Laskin Studio and Warner Loughlin Studios.
With every character she portrays, she hopes to bring a sense of strength, vulnerability, and—of course—a heavy dose of Girl Power. Though she is known for her upbeat and good-humored personality, when it comes to acting, she especially loves playing grittier, eccentric characters. Her favorite genres to perform are drama, mystery/thriller, dramedy, and dark comedy. She sees herself in similar roles as Kate Winslet, Florence Pugh, Amy Adams, and Anya Taylor-Joy.

Actor…
Caitlin found her home on the community theatre stage at age 7. Some of her favorite roles onstage to date have been Sally Bowles in Cabaret, Ophelia in Hamlet, & Mary Tilford in The Children’s Hour.
At USC, she trained in various disciplines, including Voice, Movement, Voice Over Acting, Shakespeare, and Dialects, to name a few. In addition to appearing on screen, she also hopes to have a successful career in voiceover—the ultimate goal being to voice a Disney princess.
Caitlin appeared in two national commercial spots for JCPenney in March 2022. She also recently performed in two feature films, Easter, Bloody Easter, a horror-comedy currently in post-production, and Time Pulse, a SciFi-comedy that made its debut at the Louisville International Film Festival in October 2022.
Singer…
Having grown up in Nashville, it should come as no surprise that Caitlin has been singing in various city/school/church choirs for 20+ years. She is trained in many vocal styles, including classical, pop/rock, country/Americana, and musical theatre. She also plays guitar and piano.
Thanks to her show-tunes-lovin’ Mama, Caitlin has always had a passion for musical theatre. A few of her dream roles are Cathy in The Last Five Years, Eurydice in Hadestown, and Veronica in Heathers.
Caitlin trained with leading American baritone and two-time Emmy nominee Rod Gilfry for four years at the acclaimed USC Thornton School of Music. She also trained with talented composer Parmer Fuller and Broadway veteran Vicki Lewis at USC School of Dramatic Arts, honing her musical theatre performing skills.
She currently trains with Erin Wilson at Erin Wilson Studio.
Dancer…
Caitlin has been dancing for over 20 years and is trained in modern/contemporary, ballet (+2 years pointe), jazz, musical theatre, and hip-hop. She took classes in ballet and contemporary at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance with Gillian Finley and Angeliki Papadakis. She currently teaches children’s ballet and musical theatre classes (ages 5-12) in Los Angeles.
Writer…
Caitlin has been writing short stories, poems, and songs since childhood. In college, she fell in love with writing screenplays and stageplays. At USC, she wrote and performed her first solo performance, ALTER(ED) EGO, a journey with self-acceptance and confidence as a plus-sized performer. In her show, she portrayed three of her Old Hollywood idols, Marion Davies, Marlene Dietrich, and Marilyn Monroe.
Caitlin is currently working on a few different projects. In addition to being a singer, she is also a songwriter and is working on writing her own music. Her favorite topics to explore in her writing are feminine rage, honest depictions of neurodivergence/mental health, and female friendships.
Outside of the arts…
Caitlin is very passionate about the Fat Liberation movement. She believes addressing the impact of anti-fat bias on mental health, eating disorders, and our society as a whole will create happier, healthier communities. We must work to destroy systemic anti-fat bias as well as address it within ourselves. Caitlin believes the Entertainment Industry has a profound ability (and responsibility) to #NormalizeNormalBodies.
